LESSON CONTENT

Gestational Diabetes Mellitus (GDM) is a condition of glucose intolerance first detected during pregnancy. It is one of the most common complications during pregnancy, affecting approximately 10-15% of pregnant women in Vietnam.

In this lesson, with the instructions from MD.MSc Nguyen Thi Ly, lecturer at Dept of Internal Medicine, TBUMP, you will learn about the definition, causes, and risk factors of gestational diabetes. Understanding this condition is the first important step towards effective prevention and management.

The VALID project has researched and developed a digital intervention program to help pregnant women self-monitor and manage blood glucose scientifically, based on the latest guidelines from the Vietnam Ministry of Health.
